Reporting to a Managing Partner, the overall goals and responsibilities of the position are:
- Overall responsibility for day to day accounting activities: ensure timely processing of A/P, A/R, and general accounting; Review for accuracy P&L statements and Balance Sheet; Manage cash flow; Coordination of monthly close/ reconciliation of the company's books/ accounts.
- Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness/ integrity and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Establishes major economic objectives and policies for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
- Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.
- Furnishes internal management reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
- Is responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
- Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
- Evaluates and recommends insurance coverages.
- Oversee payroll and other hr functions as well as office management.
- Work on special projects related to sales and marketing ROI, and financial diligence for entering new markets.
In order to succeed in this position, you are required to:
- Minimum 5 years in controller position. The ideal person would have experience in rapidly growing organizations.
- Display exceptional analytical, negotiation, organizational, written, and verbal skills.
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to be self-motivated in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft office (word and excel) and Quickbooks.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.
